    Early Years Teacher

    Overview

    • The Early Years Teacher provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where young children learn through play, exploration, and structured activities. The role focuses on building early foundations in language, numeracy, social development, and motor skills while supporting each child’s emotional and physical wellbeing.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and deliver age appropriate lessons and play-based activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage and the school’s learning goals.
    • Create a warm and caring classroom that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive social interaction.
    • Observe, record, and assess each child’s progress across developmental areas, providing feedback to parents and the school.
    • Support children in developing early literacy and numeracy skills through engaging, hands-on experiences.
    • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children through close supervision, behaviour guidance, and adherence to safeguarding policies.
    • Work closely with assistants and colleagues to maintain a clean, organised, and enriching learning environment.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
    • Relevant teaching qualification and experience in an early years setting.
    • Strong understanding of child development and early learning principles.

    Personal Attributes

    • Passionate about teaching and child development.
    • Patient, organised, and attentive to detail.
    • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
