    Driver

    How can you make a difference?

    • The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services while ensuring compliance with local traffic rules and UNICEF protocols.
    • Drivers are expected to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, adaptability and protocol awareness. They are also expected to support administrative tasks and engage in self-directed learning during non-driving periods.
    • The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact, a high sense of responsibility, and the ability to work effectively with people of diverse national and cultural backgrounds.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Education: Secondary Education along with a valid drivers’s licence and knowledge of the local driving rules and regulations
    • Work Experience: Minimum two years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record is required.
    • Skills: Safe driving, Defensive driving, Vehicle maintenance, GPS navigation, Route planning, Security protocols, Radio communication, Emergency response, Record keeping, Mobile apps.
    • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

    Desirables

    • Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chines, French, Russian or Spanish) or local language of the duty station is considered an asset.
    • Experience in airport protocol and remote field driving experience.
    • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
