Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of staff, goods, materials, and company assets to designated locations. The role involves maintaining assigned vehicles in good working condition, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations, and supporting smooth organizational operations through professional driving services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Safely transport staff, visitors, and company materials to assigned destinations.
2. Ensure punctual pick-up and delivery schedules.
3. Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after operations.
4. Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of assigned vehicles at all times.
5. Ensure vehicle documents such as licenses, insurance, and permits remain valid and up to date.
6. Report vehicle faults, accidents, damages, or maintenance needs promptly.
7. Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies.
8. Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and movement records.
9. Monitor fuel usage and avoid wastage or misuse of company resources.
10. Assist in loading and unloading items when necessary.
11. Ensure proper care and security of goods and passengers during transit.
12. Avoid unauthorized use of company vehicles.
13. Support logistics and operational activities as assigned by management.
14. Maintain professionalism, discipline, and courteous behavior while representing the organization.
15. Ensure confidentiality of organizational movements and information.
16. Respond appropriately during emergencies, breakdowns, or road incidents.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 5-15 years driving experience.
• Good knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and medically sound.
• Good knowledge of routes and road networks.
