Job Summary

• The Drilling Operations Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and executing drilling programs while ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize well performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drilling programs and well designs, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
• Monitor and oversee drilling operations to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and procedures.
• Analyze drilling performance data to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and service providers to optimize well placement and completion strategies.
• Provide technical support during drilling operations, troubleshooting any operational challenges.
• Prepare and review drilling reports, budgets, and cost estimations.
• Evaluate and select drilling equipment, tools, and materials based on operational requirements.
• Stay updated on technological advancements in drilling techniques and incorporate best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bsc /Msc in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in drilling operations of which two (2) years should have been on field
• Strong knowledge of drilling engineering principles, well control methods, and industry regulations.
• Proficiency in drilling software such as WellView, Landmark, or similar.
• Familiarity with offshore and onshore drilling operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Certification in Well Control (IWCF) is an added advantage.
