    Diving Project Engineer

    Position Overview

    • Natony Limited seeks a dynamic Diving Project Engineer to lead and manage subsea diving projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, safety protocols, and operational timelines. This role combines technical diving expertise with managerial oversight, including documentation, team coordination, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will support Natony’s strategic collaborations with CHEVRON, NLNG, and other global clients, contributing to Nigeria’s oil and gas infrastructure development while upholding our legacy of excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Management & Execution

    • Plan, execute, and close out surface-supplied diving projects in compliance with IMCA, ADCI, and client HSE standards.
    • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments for subsea engineering and marine surveying operations.
    • Coordinate procurement of diving equipment, ROV systems, and third-party logistics.
    • Ensure seamless integration of diving operations with broader EPCIC project deliverables.
    • Oversee diving-related operations and revise corporate policies to align with worksite practices.
    • Administer operational, logistical, and diving support activities.
    • Support the Dive Operations Manager in offshore diving operations, ensuring safety, resource efficiency, and compliance with diving techniques.
    • Liaise with Equipment Managers and Dive Technicians to secure timely availability of materials and equipment.
    • Coordinate mobilization/demobilization of diving equipment and planned maintenance systems.
    • Manage personnel logistics (visas, security passes, etc.) with the Personnel & Logistics Manager.
    • Collaborate with client engineers to draft project-specific diving procedures.
    • Prepare requisitions for equipment, materials, and consumables, subject to Dive Operations Manager approval.

    Diving Operations Leadership

    • Supervise dive teams (contractors and in-house personnel), ensuring adherence to emergency protocols and equipment maintenance.
    • Oversee hyperbaric chamber operations and collaborate with marine survey teams for subsea infrastructure inspections.

    Documentation & Compliance

    • Prepare and approve critical diving documentation:
    • Dive plans, method statements, risk assessments, permits, daily progress reports, and incident logs.
    • Post-project audits and client deliverables (e.g., compliance certificates).
    • Maintain records for regulatory audits (NCDMB, DPR) and internal reviews.

    Team Management & Development

    • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety and innovation.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and organize technical training programs.

    Client & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as the primary technical liaison for clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Present project proposals, progress updates, and post-project reviews to stakeholders.

    Risk Management & HSE Compliance

    • Proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, and safety risks.
    • Lead incident investigations and ensure compliance with Nigerian HSE regulations, ISO standards, and company policies.

    Required Qualifications

    Certifications:

    • Valid Offshore Survival Certifications (BOSIET, HUET).

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years in offshore diving operations, including ROV and marine surveying projects.
    • Proven experience managing diving teams for International Oil Companies (IOCs) (e.g., NLNG, Shell, Chevron).

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and subsea engineering software.
    • In-depth knowledge of hyperbaric systems and subsea construction.

    Soft Skills:

    • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management is an added advantage).
    • Experience with diving projects for major industry players within Nigeria.
    • Familiarity with ROV operations and marine survey data analysis (advantageous but not mandatory).
