    DevOps Engineer

    DevOps Engineer at iRecharge

    Responsibilities

    • Create, manage and integrate software infrastructure to automate and secure public cloud environments
    • Management of solutions that can support large capacity and scale reliably, in a 24/7 environment
    • Implementation of security and data protection best practices.

    Required Skills

    • In-depth knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes. Hands-on experience is also required.
    • Knowledge of Information Security Best Practices.
    • Knowledge of any of the following RDBMS: MySQL, Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server. Familiarity with NoSQL databases will be considered a plus.
    • Experience using Jenkins for building, deploying and automating application deployment.
    • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
    • Experience with Unix/Linux distributions and bash scripting.
    • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals.
    • An in-depth understanding of the AWS ecosystem and the services that are related to application development and deployment. We make use AWS but an understanding of either GCP or Azure would be considered.
    • In-depth understanding of HTTP, experience debugging REST applications
    • Hands-on experience managing distributed applications (Monitoring, Logging, Tracing, etc.)

    Education and Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering/Development or any other related discipline. A Masters degree would be an added advantage but is not mandatory. Certifications are also a plus.
    • At least 3 years of experience in managing and maintenance of high-quality software infrastructure. A strong portfolio would be considered where the required experience is lacking.

    • Excellent planning and team management skills, demonstrating mature confidence and integrity
    • Proven ability to work as part of a cross-functional development team
    • Experience in a 24/7 production environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Good report writing and documentation skill
    • Should be proactive.
