Development Optimization Lead at WTS Energy

Job Summary

The Development Optimization Lead is responsible for maximizing the efficiency and profitability of oil and gas field development projects. This role involves analyzing and optimizing field development plans, production processes, and resource utilization to ensure the best possible outcomes for the company and its clients. The Development Optimization Lead works closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions that enhance field performance and sustainability.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize field development and production processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
• Analyze geological, engineering, and economic data to identify opportunities for enhancing field development plans and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and production teams to integrate data and develop comprehensive optimization solutions.
• Lead technical evaluations and economic assessments of potential development projects, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Monitor field performance and production data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for optimization.
• Facilitate the implementation of new technologies and methodologies to enhance field development and production performance.
• Ensure strict compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements in all optimization activities.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to management and clients, highlighting optimization strategies and results.
• Coordinate with drilling, completions, and production teams to ensure alignment and integration of optimization initiatives.
• Promote an environment of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the development optimization team.

Educational Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• An advanced degree (Master’s or higher.) in a relevant discipline is a plus.
• Professional certifications in Project Management or related is an added advantage.
• Possess a minimum of 10 years of active experience in Field Development Optimization. 
• Experience in the Niger Delta/Rivers region is essential
• Strong knowledge of field development processes, production optimization techniques, and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in data analysis and modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, etc).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data.
• Experience in field development optimization in both onshore and offshore environments.
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards and best practices.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines 
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing operational conditions and work in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel to field locations and work in challenging conditions as required.
