Design Manager at WATT Renewable Corporation

• Design Manager The Design manager supports the design and development of solar hybrid and high-voltage energy systems, translating site data and load requirements into accurate, code-compliant designs. The role focuses on equipment sizing, schematics, and documentation that feed into a first-time-right, standardised design process. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working to defined design standards under the direction of the Design Manager. 

Key Responsibilities 

Design & Engineering

• Support site surveys and load capture for assigned projects
• Size PV arrays, inverters, battery storage, and controllers per project requirements
• Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment layouts
• Assist with high-voltage design in line with engineering standards and safety codes

Documentation & Quality

• Prepare and maintain as-built drawings and design records
• Follow QA/QC checks on all design outputs before submission
• Ensure designs meet client load, operational, and regulatory requirements

Collaboration

• Work with the Design Manager and drafting team to keep designs to a single standard
• Coordinate with Projects, Operations, and Construction on buildability
• Flag design or technical risks early, before they reach site

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Power Engineering or related field
• 2–5 years' experience in power/energy/infrastructure design
• Working knowledge of solar hybrid systems and high-voltage design principles
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, PVsyst, or equivalent design/drafting tools
