Design Engineer at Nigeria Machine Tools Limited (NMTL)

Job Summary

• The main purpose of Design engineers is to perform various tasks in the design and development department including Drafting, Modeling, Creating manufacturing drawings and following up with the manufacturing process. Also the research and design of a company’s new products and systems.

Responsibilities

• Review sample drawings or instructions to understand the specifications of output.
• Product sketches from samples on-site
• Use software to create models and drawings of products
• Analyse models for manufacturability, Assembly and failure.
• Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a design and development task.
• Use appropriate measuring tools to take measurement of samples
• Take accurate dimensions of products.
• Understand specifications and standards.
• Keep records of drawings and designs
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office
• Ensure consistency with specifications and standards
• Maintain ISO documents and procedures.

Main Competencies 

• 5+ Years of experience as a design engineer
• Strong understanding of Engineering drawing and design process
• Ability to prepare manufacturing drawing
• Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
• Knowledge of the properties and use of engineering materials.
• Accurate and strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in design software (Solid Works, AutoCAD and so on).
• Ability to multitask, manage time effectively and have excellent communication skills.
• Good analytical and creative thinking abilities.
