Demand Planner at Sika Nigeria

Reports to: Procurement & Logistics Manager

Role Summary

• The Demand Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts for the company's product offerings.
• Working closely with cross-functional operational teams, the role ensures demand plans are aligned with business objectives, optimize inventory levels, and support product availability and customer service performance.

General Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecasts for all product categories and product lines.
• Analyze historical sales trends, project pipelines, customer demand patterns, market intelligence, and commercial activities to improve forecast accuracy.
• Monitor forecast performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve forecasting effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Finance teams to gather market insights and align demand forecasts with business plans.
• Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by providing accurate demand projections and analysis.
• Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure demand plans are translated into effective supply and inventory plans.
• Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions to reduce stock-outs, excess inventory, slow-moving stock, and obsolescence.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes, forecasting methods, and data quality.
• Maintain accurate planning data within ERP and reporting systems.

Qualifications

• BSc/HND in Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite.
• Good understanding of forecasting methodologies, inventory management principles, and supply chain processes.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.
