Database Analyst at Nextier Capital Limited

ROLE PURPOSE

This role involves organizing and making sense of collections of information to create functional systems and evaluate, design, review, and implement databases. The Database Analyst will maintain data storage; assess database design; and gather, organize, and interpret statistical information based on the data in the database. In addition, apply available technologies to develop vivid information graphics based on the data provided.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee database development and modification efforts.
• Design and implement secure, efficient, and accurate databases.
• Maintain current and accurate knowledge of data storage and management best practices.
• Ensures that databases are designed to meet specifications and requirements at the lowest possible costs.
• Ensures that database projects are completed on time and within estimated costs.
• Develops and maintains documentation and standards.
• Develop data analytics using the information availed by the client, and Nextier.
• Deliver a holistic view of performance, insights, and recommendations in each area of controlled experimentation.
• Collaborate with our partner teams to create analytical products and solutions that drive efficiency and value.
• Bring data to life through storytelling in a clear and meaningful way to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. (Geospatial Science, Information Communication Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Econometrics or Information Management preferred).

Required skills

• At least 3-5 years in experience in Data Analytics and processing, and least two years of experience with database management systems; programme development and analysis using database techniques.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, technical, and statistical skills to identify and resolve complex problems.
• Exposure to SAS and PowerBI is preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, or R.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of database design and construction.
• Ability to work with large amounts of information and see the bigger picture.
• Comfortable with juggling facts, figures and numbers crunching.
• Excellent reporting and report writing skills
• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Demonstrable experience in preparing, transforming and analyzing data to deliver actionable results.
• A solid sense of confidentiality.
