    Database Administrator

    Job Summary

    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, installing and managing our databases. You will ensure optimal database performance by analyzing database issues and monitoring database performance.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage database changes and re-designs
    • Analyze database issues and troubleshoot or configure the database accordingly
    • Drive automation of code
    • Making requested changes, updates and modifications to database structure and data.
    • Ensuring database security, integrity, stability and system availability
    • Monitor database performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to front-end users
    • Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind
    • Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
    • Protect the database against threats or unauthorized access
    • Ensuring database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered ion the event of memory loss
    • Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance protection
    • Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
    • Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
    • Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database
    • Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
    • Install and test new versions of DBMS
    • Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
    • Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field of study
    • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a database administrator
    • Proven knowledge of SQL Servers
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
    • Up-to-date with trends and developments in database administration
    • Highly organized and responsible.
