    Database Administrator

    Job Description

    • We’re seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our growing technology team. 
    • This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in MySQL database management and a passion for building reliable, scalable data infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain high-performance database environments that support mission-critical applications.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain relational database systems.
    • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency.
    • Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
    • Ensure database security, user access management, and compliance with company policies.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production and development environments.
    • Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures.
    • Support application development teams with database design and query optimization.
    • Monitor database health, capacity, and storage utilization.
    • Implement high availability and replication solutions where required.
    • Execute database migrations, upgrades, and patch management activities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
    • Minimum of 4 years experience in managing MySQL databases in large-scale environments
    • Proficient in MySQL sharding architecture and clustering techniques
    • Hands-on experience with HAProxy, ProxySQL, or MaxScale
    • Familiarity with AWS database services (Aurora, RDS, etc.)
    • Strong Linux/Unix administration skills
    • Experience with disaster recovery, data replication, and performance tuning
    • MS SQL experience is a plus
    • SaaS or cloud-based infrastructure experience is an advantage.
