Job Description
Our client, who is a dynamic finance company is looking for an enterprising and technology savvy/digital inclined professional to operate in the role of a Data Scientist - Modelling & Customer Profiling. The company is focused on providing Payroll based consumer loans to eligible customers and takes borrowings from individuals. The company currently operates in 25 states in Nigeria and plan on diversifying into other services such as payments business.

Location: Ikeja GRA, Lagos

Job Summary 

A suitable candidate will be responsible for analysing data and providing insights and recommendations that drive better customer decisions and commercial results.

Key Responsibilties:

• Build analytic systems and predictive credit models
• Providing analysis and making recommendations that help inform the setting of scorecards, policy and developing strategies
• Investigating data, finding trends, forecasting performance, and providing insightful recommendations
• Create predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
• Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and contribute to workflow/process change redesign, forming a good understanding of the specific product or process.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Proficient in Statistical and mathematical methods
• Be familiar with big data analysis
• Understand lending algorithms and scorecard development process and model management
• Skilled and experienced in extracting insights from data and communicating such insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in application and web development. Structured and Unstructured Query languages e.g Python, R, SQL, SAS
• Understanding of data flows, data architecture, ETL and processing of structured and unstructured data. Using data mining to discover new patterns from large datasets. Implement standard and proprietary algorithms for handling and processing data.
