Custom Clearance Officer (Hybrid) at Ascentech Services Limited

General Objective

• To ensure that all applicable import duties and taxes are paid and that goods comply with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Complete the customs clearance procedures to release the arrived shipment.
• Checking of documentation relating to imported goods.
• Follow-up with the custom brokers for clearance of imported items within the shortest possible time.
• Examine invoices & shipping manifests for conformity to tariff & customs regulation.
• Issuing customs documents; keeping record of relevant documents.
• Collection of documents for customs clearance of goods.
• Customs classifications and tariff interpretation.
• Delivery of shipping Documents/PAAR obtaining acknowledgment
• Delivery of import-related draft/customs duty payments
• Processing import duty payment cheques, collection of duty receipts from bank/filling and submission to clearing agent.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree, HND and OND qualification with 2 - 3 years work experience.

Competence & Skills Required:

• Ability to handle, sort and file shipping documents.
• Ability to interact with SON, NAFDAC, MAN and other relevant authorities.
• Qualified Candidate must know about Lagos Ports and Authorities.
• Possess Good background on Clearance process from Air & Seaports.
• Banks’ communication for document collection on delivery.
• Good relationship with SON, NAFDAC & other authorities like MAN.
