    Credit Control Manager

    Job Description

    • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Accounting policies and procedures.
    • Daily debtors follow up through phone calls, email exchange and periodic visits to debtor’s clients to recover the debts
    • Accurate and timely allocation of cash inflows to specific invoices on Sage pastel Evolution for timely updating of debtors statement of Accounts
    • Reviewing and capturing invoice via Sage pastel for posting and ensuring that all clients get there monthly invoice as at when due to enhance cash collection timing
    • Coordinate collection strategies to mitigate customers’ objections to making timely A/R payments and avoid overdue debts.
    • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
    • Manage the process of reviewing and filling out receipts for third party payments, whether by cash, cheque, credit and other forms of payment.
    • Preparation of Debtors’ Age Analysis for financial management decisions using sage pastel .
    • Ensure customers' payments are posted and reconciled to the general ledger, by ensuring accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues.
    • Review all credit balances, refunds and adjustments, and ensure application of adjustments and/or corrections to invoicing records.
    • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in Debtors accounts.
    • Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities, in order to improve Days of Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Cash flow positions
    • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its customers.
    • Work with the account manager to analyze bad debt reserve requirements and recommend monthly accruals/provision.
    • Ensure that the company’s standard template regarding invoice samples is in place for every customer.
    • Coordinate all credit activities to assist with reducing exposure to bad debt.
    • Monitor the accurate reporting of sales values.
    • Monitor the adequacy of the company's sales as captured by Accounts Receivable Officers.
    • Supervise the Account Receivable Department as well as train, mentor, develop and assess the employees of this department.
    • Proactively assess credit worthiness for new customers.
    • Check and approve journal entry into the general ledger.
    • Liaise with Operations and Sales in order to obtain information about new and terminated contracts.
    • Responsible for process improvement and streamlining of the Account Receivables function. Responsible for written procedures as related to the Account Receivable functions/processes.
    • Audit Accounts Receivable related balance sheet accounts including VAT and WHT on Receivables.
    • Ensure timely rendition of statutory payment relating to Account Receivables.
    • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
    • Roster meeting with clients on overdue outstanding’s and or on invoice discrepancies and putting strategic approach in place for debts recovery and recommending to Accounting Manager and Head of Finance clients from which service should be suspended due to poor responses to invoice payment.
    • Given support on Month end loading of financial transactions into BPC has been delegated by Accounting Manager and Head of Finance.
    • Other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager, Head of Finance and or Managing Director.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Corporate Finance
    • 5 years Experience
    • ICAN certification will be an added advantage

    Salary
    N250,000 - N280,000 Monthly.
