Main Purpose

• Perform counselling and education sessions to patients, following MSF medical and mental health protocols and procedures, in order to improve their psychosocial condition.

Job Description

• Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic and administrative needs of patients 
• Actively promote the availability of counselling services and carry out, individual or group counselling’s and basic psychoeducational sessions to patients and their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope. 
• Refer patients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary 
• Participate in the creation of any material needed for counselling activities 
• Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings 
• Ensure strict confidentiality of patients’ data
• Take an active part in training, supervision/interventions and support the activities manager when necessary
• Partake in all sensitization activities both for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.

Requirements

• Education: Essential Degree / Diploma in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or other similar fields.

Experience:

• 1 year of experience is essential.
• Experience with NGO desirable.

Language:

• Local languages and mission languages are essential.

Knowledge:

• Essential basic computer literacy.

Gross Monthly Salary
According to MSF National Salary Scale.
