Cost Accountant - Field at Agricare Std Plus Ltd

Description

• The Cost Accountant Executive is responsible for managing cost accounting processes, monitoring inventory valuation, analyzing production costs, and supporting financial control across the Company’s operations.
• The role ensures accurate cost tracking, efficient resource utilization, and timely reporting to support management decision-making in both farm settlement and head office environments.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Management & Financial Control:

• Prepare and maintain detailed cost records for production, inventory, and operational activities
• Analyze cost variances and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement
• Monitor production costs, material usage, and operational expenses across farm and head office operations
• Develop cost control measures to improve profitability and reduce wastage.

Inventory & Stock Management:

• Monitor inventory movement, stock valuation, and reconciliation processes
• Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory audits
• Ensure accurate recording of raw materials, finished goods, and consumables
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare periodic cost reports, inventory reports, and financial summaries
• Provide management with insights on cost trends, production efficiency, and operational performance
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Maintain proper documentation and financial records in line with company policies.

Operational Support:

• Work closely with production, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure accurate cost tracking
• Support procurement and supply chain teams in cost planning and vendor evaluation
• Participate in operational reviews and provide financial guidance to improve performance
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and accounting standards.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an HND qualification with 3 - 5 years experience.

Work Environment Expectations:

• Ability to work across dual operational locations (Farm Settlement - Abeokuta and Head Office - Lagos)
• Willingness to participate in periodic inventory counts and operational reviews
• Ability to work collaboratively with operations and production teams
