Contract Tax Consultant at Regolith Technologies

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with strong expertise in tax advisory, compliance, and direct liaison with tax authorities. The ideal candidate should have 2–5 years of hands-on experience managing tax matters, handling regulatory correspondence, and ensuring full statutory compliance.

This is a remote position with occasional physical visits to tax offices and regulatory agencies when required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide tax advisory services on corporate and individual tax matters.
2. Prepare, review, and file tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.) accurately and on time.
3. Liaise directly with tax authorities including the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and relevant State Internal Revenue Services.
4. Handle tax objections, reconciliations, and dispute resolution processes.
5. Prepare and respond to tax queries, assessments, and compliance notices.
6. Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
7. Maintain accurate financial and tax records.
8. Provide support during regulatory inspections and reviews.
9. Advise management on tax planning strategies and risk mitigation.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 2–5 years proven experience in tax advisory and tax compliance.
3. Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory procedures.
4. Experience handling tax related matters, tax advisory and interacting with tax authorities.
5. Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA) or in view will be an advantage.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. High level of integrity and professionalism.
8. Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
