Contract Management Instructor at Dexterous Applied Training Institute (DATI)

Role Description

• This is a one (1) month, on-site Contract Management Instructor role based in Port Harcourt. The instructor will design, update, and deliver contract management courses, including topics such as contract lifecycle, risk allocation, compliance, negotiation, and performance monitoring. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and training materials, delivering in-person lectures and interactive workshops, and using case studies and practical exercises relevant to industries such as oil and gas and manufacturing.
• The role involves assessing learner progress through assignments, tests, and practical evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate training records and reports. The instructor will also collaborate with the curriculum development team to align course content with industry standards, support corporate clients in customizing training solutions, and contribute to continual improvement of DATI’s training offerings.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of contract management principles, including contract drafting, review, risk management, negotiation, and contract administration.
• Experience designing and delivering professional training programs, workshops, or academic courses in contract management, procurement, or related business/legal fields.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of adult learners.
• Proficiency in using standard office and presentation tools (e.g., MS Office, presentation software) and comfort with learning management systems or digital training platforms.
• Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are an advantage.
• Professional certifications in contract management, procurement, or project management (e.g., IACCM/WCC, CIPS, PMP, or similar) are highly desirable.
• Industry experience in sectors such as oil and gas, energy, construction, or manufacturing, particularly in roles involving contracts, procurement, or commercial management.
• Demonstrated ability to develop course materials, case studies, and assessments that reflect real-world contract management scenarios.
