Consultant – Proposal Development Writing Workshop Facilitator at Ekklesiyar Yan'uwa a Nigeria (EYN PROJECT)

ABOUT THE JOB:  

EYN Projects is seeking an experienced Consultant to design and facilitate a three-day intensive Proposal Development Writing Workshop for Local and National Actors (LNAs) operating in Northeast Nigeria under the Local SPACE Project (ECHO ERC).
The Consultant will serve as the lead facilitator, providing practical, hands-on training to strengthen the capacity of LNAs in developing high-quality, competitive, and donor-compliant proposals. The consultant must have strong expertise in humanitarian proposal writing, excellent facilitation skills, and the ability to deliver interactive and results-oriented training.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Consultant will:

• Review existing proposal development gaps and training needs of LNAs.
• Design a comprehensive three-day interactive workshop agenda, including presentations, group exercises, practical scenarios, and templates.
• Facilitate the three-day workshop in Abuja, ensuring high participant engagement.
• Support participants in developing draft proposals or concept notes aligned with donor requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to participants during the workshop.
• Submit a concise final consultancy report summarizing workshop outcomes, participant progress, and recommendations for further capacity strengthening.

KEY DELIVERABLES:

• Training agenda and high-quality training materials (slides, templates, exercises, handouts).
• Successful facilitation of the 3-day workshop.
• Draft proposals/concept notes developed by participants.
• Final consultancy report with key findings and recommendations.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Excellent knowledge of donor requirements (ECHO, USAID, UN agencies, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Ability to deliver training in a participatory and practical manner.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Hausa is an added

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Proven expertise (Minimum 10 years) in proposal development and donor compliance in the humanitarian and development sector.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating capacity-building workshops for local and national actors.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian funding mechanisms in Nigeria, especially in the Northeast.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and report writing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Relations, or related discipline).
• Previous experience working with LNAs or in Northeast Nigeria humanitarian context is an advantage.

Three (3) working days of workshop delivery, plus preparation and reporting time.
