• The Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation(MF) is an international human rights organization, based in The Netherlands, working together with survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) from around the world. The Foundation supports survivors’ demands for a world where sexual violence as a weapon of war is no longer tolerated, and bears consequences for individual perpetrators and States. It works for a future where survivors receive the holistic care & the reparations they need to rebuild their lives.
• Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA) is a non-profit organization which facilitates community-led initiatives promoting gender equality and advancing the status of women and girls in northern Nigeria. GRA partners with local and international NGOs to support victim-led initiatives to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls, particularly survivors of CRSV, female genital mutilation/circumcision, E/FM, as well as persons living with disability in north east Nigeria.
• The Youth Initiative Against Terrorism(YIAT, formerly YOCAT) is a youth NGO that aims to weaken the appeal of Boko Haram in northern Nigeria through counter-radical peace education, skills training for vulnerable youth, and counselling services to victims of terrorism. Formed in 2010 as a volunteer-led network, the majority of their volunteers were themselves victims of terrorism.

Project Background

• The grant, titled "Nigerian Youth, Community Peace Building and Resilience to Crisis and Fragility," was awarded by the European Union for a two-year period to support youth in northeastern Nigeria to participate in conflict prevention, civilian protection, and peacebuilding in a meaningful and structured way at local and national levels. The Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation, the Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA), and the Youth Initiative Against Terrorism (YIAT) collaborated on this project.
• The project's overall goal is for youth forums and groups made up of young people aged 18 to 30 who have experience facilitating peaceful community rehabilitation to take part. The major activities with the 270 project recipients would include capacity-building training, mentorship, and peer learning. A series of 20 monthly cluster club meetings, three regional conferences, six joint advocacy initiatives, and a 3-day intensive capacity building training for youths on leadership, network development, communications, advocacy, human rights, transitional justice, and peacebuilding are among the key deliverables.
• The main goal is to increase the capacity of the 270 project participants to engage effectively with the broader ecosystem of CSOs, INGOs, government authorities at all levels, and other external stakeholders working on relevant themes related to SDG 16, normative frameworks like UNSCR 1325 and UNSCR 2250, and national policy initiatives on promoting just, peaceful, and inclusive societies, through their elected cluster leaders.

Job Summary

• The consortium project manager (CPM) will be in charge of supervising and coordinating the project's implementation. He or she will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the plan is implemented, be in charge of project reporting, implementation progress, technical support oversights, and encouragement to the project team to use best practices programming approaches in order to complete the project to a high standard, all while communicating effectively with consortium members to ensure measurable results.
• Contractual compliance duties, project progress, project proposal, budget, logical framework, facilitations, and leading conflict-affected youths in three states, organized into three cluster clubs with 90 members each, are among CPM's specialized roles. In the areas of transitional justice, democratic governance, and peacebuilding, the membership will attempt to influence policy or practice in some or all the states.
• The Consortium Project Manager CPM is responsible for coordinating and guiding 270 youth groups in three states, which are categizedinto three cluster groups of 90 members each. In Borno, Adamawa & Yobe States, whose membership will attempt to influence policy or practice in transitional justice, democratic governance, security, and peacebuilding.

Key Responsibilities

• Project management and development, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation, finance/budget, asset management, coordination with project staff, stakeholders and local networkingare all priorities.
• Collaboration with the consortium Lead on joint planning with implementing partners in terms of coordination, technical assistance, and activity progress evaluation.
• Create and implement monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans, as well as ensuring financial and logistical planning of activities in accordance with the work plan and Project strategy.
• Collaborate closely with the project team to conduct a surface review to verify logical and consistency between financial and narrative reports, as well as to identify any modifications to the description, implementation timeline, and/or budget for activities and expenses.
• Assist with the successful implementation of project baseline, mid-term, and end-line assessments/evaluations in coordination with the lead consortium partner and ensuring that lessons learned are fed into project adjustments.
• Over the course of the Project, strengthen the leadership, organizational development, personal safety, and well-being of project personnel and cluster leaders to aid in stakeholder interactions with conflict-affected youngsters.
• Prioritize donor compliance requirements in monitoring and evaluation efforts, and ensure that successful project deliverables, such as program activities, are overseen with enough technical support.
• Maintain close ties with relevant stakeholders to ensure meaningful participation in the project's democratic governance, peacebuilding, and transitional justice aims in the implementing governments.
• Participate in weekly programming intervention meetings with national and international partners to exchange updates and conduct strategic reviews. Investigate national networks and other platforms, and ensure prompt information sharing with the consortium lead.
• With regular interaction with the youth group in the region, facilitate a feedback session from buddy circles meetings, cluster leaders action items, and advocacy methods.
• Ensure good communication and information sharing for scaling up the project's outcomes/impacts by documenting and sharing lessons learned on the project's impacts and best practices.
• Encourage young people to interact with one another. Assist in the development of strategic partnerships and collaborations with both government and non-government entities to enable collaboration and coordination in the field of UNSCR 1325 and UNSCR 2250 promotion.
• Timely Combine all narrative and financial reports submitted by coordinators, as well as reports on their own implementation, into a single level report and send to the consortium lead.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Developmental Studies or a comparable field is required.
• At least 6 years of NGOs program and project management experience, with a minimum of three (3) years in consortium project management.
• Demonstrated experience in the areas of peacebuilding, transitional justice, and democratic government in northern Nigeria.
• Solid understanding of humanitarian ideals and the NGO code of conduct, as well as expertise managing big and complex project finances.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with the ability to work in multiple places. Perfect for youth engagement programs, with a thorough awareness of trauma-informed practices.
• Patience, awareness of one's own strengths and shortcomings, proactive use of feedback and self-development when working under pressure and in a high-risk security environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities, as well as advanced technological knowledge.Any additional Adamawa, Borno, or Yobe languages would be advantageous.
