Computer/ICT Teacher at Lajfort Schools

Job Description:

• Lajfort Schools is seeking a highly competent and dedicated Computer/ICT Teacher to join our secondary school located in Iju, Ota, Ogun State. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of computer studies, information technology, and practical computer applications, with the ability to effectively teach students at the secondary school level and prepare them for internal and external examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Computer Studies, ICT, and related computer subjects to secondary school students.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with the approved curriculum.
• Teach both theoretical and practical aspects of computer education.
• Introduce students to computer fundamentals, Microsoft Office applications, internet usage, and digital literacy.
• Teach basic programming and computational thinking where applicable.
• Conduct practical computer lessons and guide students in the use of computer systems and software.
• Assess, record, and report students' academic progress.
• Prepare students for relevant internal and external examinations, including WAEC, NECO, and JAMB where applicable.
• Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Encourage students to develop practical computer, problem-solving, and digital skills.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, extracurricular activities, and other school programmes.
• Support students' academic, technological, and intellectual development.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of school computer laboratory equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• B.Ed/B.Sc/B.Tech/HND in Computer Science, Computer Education, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A PGDE is an added advantage for candidates without a teaching qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Computer Studies, ICT, and practical computer applications.
• Ability to teach computer-related subjects at the secondary school level.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet applications, and other common computer tools.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, HTML/CSS, or JavaScript is an added advantage.
• TRCN certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 1-3 years teaching experience at the secondary school level is preferred.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make computer lessons practical, engaging, and easy for students to understand.
• Familiarity with modern teaching methods and digital learning tools.
