Compliance and Risk Officer at Proten

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance and Risk Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations while effectively managing and mitigating risks. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across various departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of risks, compliance and regulations in the Fintech industry  and a keen eye for details. 

Principal Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure organizational compliance.
• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular compliance audits to identify and address potential issues.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance matters.

Risk Management:

• Identify, assess, and prioritize risks affecting the organization.
• Develop and implement risk management policies and strategies.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.
• Monitor and report on key risk indicators.

 Training and Education:

• Develop and deliver compliance and risk management training programs for employees.
• Keep staff informed about changes in regulations and best practices.
• Foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the organization.

Reporting:

• Prepare and submit regular reports to management on compliance and risk-related activities.
• Provide updates on the status of compliance initiatives and risk mitigation efforts.

  Investigations:

• Conduct internal investigations in response to compliance concerns.
• Collaborate with legal and HR departments to address and resolve compliance issues.
• Maintain documentation of investigations and outcomes.

Vendor Management:

•  Evaluate and monitor the compliance and risk posture of third-party vendors.
•  Ensure that vendor relationships align with the organization's risk appetite.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalents in a relevant field from reputable institutions. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus. 
• Proven experience in compliance and risk management, preferably in Fintech Industry. 
• Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. 
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels within the organization. 
• Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity and ethical standards.
