    Commercial Lead / Associate GM

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • Lori is seeking a Commercial Lead/Associate GM who will scale and ensure the continued exponential growth of our customer base across Lori’s Western African markets. We are seeking a strong leader with significant experience in managing teams and operations excellency.
    • You will operate with autonomy, working closely with customers, transporters, and other external stakeholders to help build our Nigeria presence into a world-class operation.
    • You will have full access to Lori’s globally leading tech and operations team and operating model to drive growth. 

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    Strategic Planning: 

    • Develop and execute a strategic business sustainability plan that drives through walls for Lori Nigeria 
    • Identify business development opportunities to drive growth and expand the company's market presence. 
    • Monitor market dynamics to identify opportunities and risks. 

    Operations Management: 

    • Support GM in driving operations to ensure efficient and effective execution of business activities. 
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement measures to achieve operational targets. 
    • Manage and optimize resources to maximize productivity and profitability. 
    • Implement, analyze, and iterate business processes & systems. 

    Team Leadership: 

    • Set goals and capture performance data to improve operations
    • Help manage Lori Nigeria’s budget, ensuring financial objectives are met. 
    • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions when necessary. 
    • Ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies, procedures, and regulations. 

    Stakeholder Management: 

    • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government authorities, industry partners, customers, and suppliers. 
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance its reputation and promote its services.

    Compliance and Risk Management: 

    • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in Nigeria. 
    • Identify and mitigate operational, legal, financial, and reputational risks. 
    • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to maintain a high standard of business ethics and integrity. 

    Commercial Growth and Management

    • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve sales targets.
    • Expand our customer base, and increase share of the wallet.
    • Support in lead growth into other WA transit corridors and in new cargo categories.
    • Master Lori’s customers and their needs, the industry, and market dynamics across multiple geographies.

    WHAT IT TAKES:

    • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
    • Experience in logistics in Nigeria 
    • Deep commitment to the vision of Lori 
    • Entrepreneurial passion 
    • Experience in managing challenging situations requiring effective prioritization and rapid response 
    • Experience in building personal networks at a senior level 
    • Analytical mindset and experience in defining and solving complex issues 
    • Strategic thinker able to devise creative mid-to-long term initiatives that drive growth 
    • Strong understanding of financial and operational management processes 
    • Knowledge of local market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and business environment.
    • Excellent management, communication and execution skills, proven ability to build, train and lead teams
    • Strong analytical thinker who is data driven and able to make decisions quickly
