Coding Analyst Lead at International Energy Services Limited (IESL)

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

• Material Coding and Analysis is a key process in Inventory Management, Procurement, and Supply Chain Operations.
• Its main purpose is to ensures that all materials are described and categorized in a consistent way to helps the organisation to avoid duplication of items in the system (e.g., same item entered under different names), facilitates accurate tracking of stock levels, movement, and usage and enables faster and more accurate identification of materials during purchasing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures accurate classification and coding of materials in inventory systems to support procurement, inventory management, and reporting.
• Create, update, and maintain material codes in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of material descriptions and attributes.
• Apply industry-standard coding systems (e.g.internal taxonomy).
• Ensure proper categorization based on material type, usage, and specifications.
• Perform regular audits to identify and correct duplicate or incorrect codes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate material data.
• Provide coding support for new material requests.
• Assist in optimizing inventory by ensuring correct material classification.
• Generate reports on material coding status and data quality.
• Maintain documentation of coding standards and procedures.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Certifications in data management or ERP systems (e.g., SAP MM) are a plus.
• 3–5 years in Material Master Data Management, Inventory Control, or Supply Chain roles.
• Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in ERP systems (especially SAP MM).
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with data cleansing tools.
• Ability to analyze and interpret material specifications and categorize accurately.
• High level of accuracy in data entry and classification.
• Ability to collaborate with procurement, engineering, and warehouse teams.
• Capable of resolving coding conflicts and improving data quality.
• Knowledge of international coding standards and ability to maintain clear documentation.
