Coating Inspector at Dorman Long Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect surface preparation (blasting, cleaning) to required standards.
• Monitor coating application in line with approved procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out and document tests such as DFT, WFT, adhesion, and holiday testing.
• Ensure all coating activities comply with project specifications and QA/QC requirements.
• Identify defects, raise NCRs, and follow through on corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit accurate inspection reports.
• Work closely with QA/QC team, contractors, and client representatives.

Requirements:

• HND / BSc Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in coating inspection within EPC or oil & gas projects.
• NACE Level 1 or 2 certification.
• Good understanding of standards such as ISO, SSPC, ASTM.
• Hands-on experience with inspection tools (DFT gauge, holiday detector, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
