Job Summary

• The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines used in the production of automotive parts and components.
• The role ensures precision machining in line with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production timelines.
• The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience operating CNC machines within an automobile manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Operation:

• Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, or machining centers according to production specifications.
• Load raw materials, select appropriate tools, and input correct program parameters.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure precision and efficiency.

Reading & Interpreting Technical Drawings:

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Ensure machining processes meet dimensional tolerances and design requirements.

Quality Control:

• Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM tools.
• Identify defects and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Document inspection results and report deviations.

Machine Maintenance:

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines.
• Identify minor mechanical or programming issues and report major faults to the maintenance team.
• Ensure machines operate at optimal performance levels.

Programming Support (Where Applicable):

• Make minor edits to CNC programs where required.
• Work closely with CNC Programmers and Engineers to improve machining efficiency.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all HSE and workshop safety procedures.
• Use appropriate PPE when operating machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:

• OND / HND in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
• Technical certification in CNC operation is an added advantage.

Experience:

• 3–7 years’ experience as a CNC Operator in an automobile manufacturing or precision machining environment.
• Practical experience operating CNC milling and/or turning machines.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of CNC machine operations and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
• Basic understanding of G-code and CNC programming is an advantage.
• Knowledge of automotive component manufacturing processes.
