    Chief Operating Officer

    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the organization.
    • You will advise the Managing Director on key operational insights as well as provide coaching to employees.
    • The successful talent will be responsible for implementing company strategies into daily operations to meet the overall objectives.
    • The role requires a talent who has strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business with a creative point of view.
    • The COO will lead our team of high-performing professionals to be efficient, productive, and effective.
    • The ideal candidate has extensive experience within our industry, preferably having worked their way up to an executive role.

    Responsibilities

    • Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with MD.
    • Produce annual operation forecasting report and strategy
    • Oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and partners with MD in sales management so that sufficient investment capital can be budgeted for near-term growth targets.
    • Identify new market opportunities to accelerate growth
    • Present operational strategy recommendations to the CEO based on your market research.
    • Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
    • Manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability.
    • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Supervising the Dealing Team, Equity and Fixed Income Traders.
    • Oversee sales and distribution of fund-raising mandates / transactions.
    • Conduct joint calls with team, affiliates’ commercial and corporate branches with emphasis on cross selling to increase wallet share for the company and group.
    • Ensure that the business complies with internal legal and risk management policies as well as industry regulations.

    Qualifications

    • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
    • Ten (10) years industry experience.
    • Experienced in Equity and Fixed Income Trading.
    • Working knowledge of the AFEX Commodities market.
    • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
    • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
    • Strategic planning and business development experience.
    • Master’s degree in business administration or any other relevant degree.
    • Certified Risk Analyst (CRA) certification would be an added advantage.
    • MUST be a Chartered Stockbroker.
    • MUST be an Authorized Dealing clerk.
    • Must be a SEC sponsored individual.
