Chief Financial Officer at a Reputable Company

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the Company's financial management and provide strategic financial direction to management.

The successful candidate will oversee financial planning, accounting, budgeting, cash-flow management, financial reporting, taxation, audit, internal controls, and overall financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Company's financial strategy in line with business objectives.
• Lead the Finance & Accounts function and supervise the finance team.
• Prepare and oversee annual budgets, financial forecasts, and management accounts.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, revenue, expenditure, and profitability.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Establish and maintain effective internal financial controls.
• Monitor financial risks and implement appropriate risk-management measures.
• Oversee tax planning, statutory payments, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic advice to the Managing Director and management.
• Monitor budget performance and investigate significant variances.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, revenue improvement, and increased profitability.
• Maintain effective relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, regulators, and other financial stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial regulations, and Company policies.
• Support management in major business decisions, investments, expansion plans, and other strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
• Minimum of 8 years' relevant professional experience, with significant experience in a senior financial management position.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, taxation, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, and internal controls.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making.
• Experience leading and managing a finance/accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and financial discipline.

The ideal candidate should be a commercially minded finance professional with strong leadership capabilities, excellent knowledge of financial management, and the ability to translate financial information into practical business decisions.
