About the Role

• The Chief Economist will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership, providing critical economic intelligence that informs strategy, funding decisions, and policy engagement.
• You’ll lead research on macroeconomic trends, agricultural finance, and financial inclusion — ensuring that the institution remains economically resilient and strategically positioned to drive inclusive growth.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s Degree in Economics, Development Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field (PhD is an advantage).
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in economic research, policy analysis, or consulting — ideally in the agricultural finance or development sectors.
• Strong background in macroeconomics, econometrics, and policy formulation.
• Demonstrated ability to provide actionable insights that drive institutional or national economic strategy.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Advanced econometric and financial modeling skills (Excel proficiency required).
• Expertise in agricultural economics, development finance, and financial inclusion policies.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities — especially with policy and regulatory audiences.
• Analytical mindset with high integrity, strategic thinking, and discretion.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with external partners, including government agencies and international financial institutions.
