This is a full-time, on-site role, based in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Chief Compliance Officer will oversee regulatory compliance while developing and implementing corporate compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant local and international laws and standards.
The role requires monitoring day-to-day operations for compliance risks, liaising with regulatory authorities, conducting risk assessments, and staying updated on changes in laws or regulatory frameworks.
The Chief Compliance Officer will work across departments to establish policies and procedures that promote a strong culture of ethical conduct and accountability.
Qualifications
Experience in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance to ensure adherence to local and international standards.
Licensed individual by Securities Exchange Commission (SEC)
Strong Analytical Skills to identify compliance risks and create effective mitigation strategies.
Excellent Communication skills for managing stakeholder engagement and reporting to senior management.
Solid knowledge of Finance principles to align compliance strategies with financial operations.
Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional, International Compliance Association certification) are an advantage.
Proven leadership experience in a compliance role within the insurance or financial services sector is highly desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively and influence organizational culture positively while ensuring adherence to compliance requirements.
