Chicken Processing Plant Supervisor at Eastern Plains Integrated Farms Limited

JOB SUMMARY

• We are seeking a hands-on Chicken Processing Plant Supervisors to oversee daily poultry processing activities and ensure production targets, yield, quality, food safety, hygiene, and operational efficiency are achieved across all processing sections.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise daily processing operations from live-bird receiving through slaughtering, defeathering, evisceration, chilling, cutting, and packaging.
• Monitor production output, yield, throughput, process efficiency, and losses against established targets.
• Coordinate processing teams and workflow across sections, promptly resolving operational bottlenecks and production issues.
• Enforce compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, biosecurity standards, HACCP, ISO 22000, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance on audits, non-conformances, corrective actions, and quality issues.
• Monitor processing equipment, utilities, consumables, and packaging materials, escalating breakdowns and following up on maintenance.
• Plan shift rosters, manpower allocation, and workforce deployment according to production requirements.
• Supervise section supervisors, attendants, and operators while monitoring attendance, performance, discipline, and productivity.
• Conduct training on safety, hygiene, food handling, and operational procedures.
• Monitor waste disposal and wastewater/effluent management in line with plant requirements.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

• HND or bachelor’s degree in animal science, Food Science & Technology, Food Technology, Poultry Science, Meat Science/Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in poultry or food processing operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Practical knowledge of poultry slaughtering, processing, hygiene, food safety, and plant operations.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety, and poultry/meat processing requirements.
• Training or certification in HACCP, GMP, Food Safety, or Poultry/Meat Processing is an advantage.
