Certified Accountant at Carrillion Construction

Job Summary:

• We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Certified Accountant to join our dynamic team.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, with specific expertise in the construction and real estate sectors.
• This role involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support the company’s growth.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Generate accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Manage project cost accounting, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and revenue. 

Job Costing:

• Implement and maintain effective job costing systems.
• Monitor project budgets and provide variance analysis. 
• Track and reconcile construction costs, including materials, labor, and subcontractor expenses. 

Compliance and Auditing:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations. 
• Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits. 
• Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with tax laws. 

Accounts Management:

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Manage bank reconciliations and cash flow
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. 

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for improvement
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) or equivalent certification
• 2-5 years proven experience in accounting, preferably in the construction
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of construction industry-specific accounting software is a plus
• Experience with project management software
• Knowledge of real estate financial analysis
• Understanding of construction contracts and payment terms.
