Job Summary

• The Category Manager is responsible for managing assigned product categories, optimizing product assortment, and expanding the customer base and merchant network. The role involves developing and implementing effective category and business development strategies to improve category performance, strengthen supplier relationships, and drive business growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned product categories to maximize sales and profitability.
• Forecast product demand and monitor stock levels to meet business needs.
• Research and identify the best products and suppliers based on value, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and key stakeholders.
• Negotiate supplier contracts and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality service delivery.
• Follow up on supplier invoices and payments to ensure timely processing.
• Maintain supplier contracts and documentation for future reference.
• Monitor market trends and forecast price movements to support purchasing decisions.
• Conduct market analysis and present growth opportunities.
• Evaluate supplier bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
• Ensure suppliers comply with company policies and business objectives.
• Work closely with internal teams to optimize category performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• HND or B.Sc. in any related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Category Management or a related role.
• Proven experience in e-commerce, retail, or consumer electronics is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of product and category management.
• Good understanding of supply chain and procurement processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop category growth strategies and deliver business results.
