Role Description

• This is a full-time, on-site Cashier role based in Lokoja.
• The Cashier is responsible for processing customer purchases accurately, handling cash, POS, and electronic payments, and issuing receipts.
• Daily tasks include welcoming customers, answering basic product questions, and ensuring a friendly, efficient checkout experience. The role also involves balancing the cash drawer, reconciling daily sales, and reporting any discrepancies.
• Additional duties may include assisting with product display, maintaining cleanliness at the checkout area, and supporting other team members during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to handle cash, operate POS systems, and manage basic transaction reconciliations with accuracy.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with a courteous and professional approach to all customers.
• Basic numeracy skills and attention to detail for accurate billing, counting cash, and checking change.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced retail environment, and handle peak-hour pressure calmly.
• Previous experience as a cashier, sales attendant, or in a retail/food service environment is an advantage.
• Honesty, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility in handling money and customer information.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by bakery operations.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent educational background.
