    Carbon Programme Delivery Lead

    Role Description

    • We are seeking a Carbon Programme Delivery Lead to support the delivery of a live carbon programme operating within established international standards.
    • This role is suited to someone who is intellectually strong, an excellent technical writer, highly organised, and comfortable operating in regulated, assurance led environments.
    • You will play a central role in translating expert guidance into high quality, submission ready outputs and managing delivery across multiple workstreams.
    • This role requires comfort working with incomplete information and forming well reasoned positions under external review.
    • The role carries real responsibility and visibility and is not an administrative or support only position. Success in this role means producing clear, defensible documentation that progresses smoothly through external review with minimal iteration. Work produced in this role will be subject to third party review and audit.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Draft, structure, and refinetechnical documentationin line with external standards, guidance, and review requirements.
    • Conduct targetedbackground researchacross relevant carbon frameworks, rules, and programme documentation, synthesising findings into usable outputs.
    • Assemble, manage, and maintainsupporting materials, annexes, and evidence packs, ensuring clarity, completeness, and audit readiness.
    • Maintain rigorousdocument control, versioning discipline, and audit safe recordsacross all workstreams.
    • Prepare cleartechnical narrativesdescribing systems, processes, and controls in a manner suitable for independent third party review.
    • Coordinate with internal technical and delivery teams to translate system capabilities intoclear, review ready documentation.
    • Act as theday to day point of contactwith relevant external stakeholders (e.g. standards bodies, auditors, consultants).
    • Track queries, comments, and review feedback, driving them through totimely and effective resolution.
    • Draft concise, well reasoned responses to external stakeholders, reflecting an assurance led and professional tone.
    • Support the development and maintenance ofreusable internal templates, checklists, and delivery materialsaligned with applicable standards and requirements.
    • Identify andescalate judgement critical issuesclearly and early, providing context and recommended options.
    • Act as astrategic writing partnerto the business, collaborating to develop a strong portfolio of written outputs (e.g. technical papers, policy briefs, explainer content, and expert commentary) that advance organisational priorities.
    • Lead or support the drafting, editing, and refinement of narratives related to carbon markets and climate delivery, ensuring clarity, coherence, and a consistent, credible institutional voice.
    • Conductrapid analysis of emerging trends, data points, and themes, translating insights into clear written inputs for internal briefs, reports, presentations, and thought leadership.
    • Tailor content and framing fordiverse audiences(e.g. policymakers, funders, partners, and development actors), adapting tone, structure, and evidence to maximise relevance and impact.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Academic or applied research background with strong writing components
    • Exceptional written communication with the ability to produce clear, structured, and technically robust documentation suitable for external review.
    • Strong research synthesis skills and comfort reading and interpreting regulated or assurance led documentation.
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret and synthesise complex guidance (e.g. standards, regulations, methodologies, audit requirements) into practical, defensible outputs.
    • Experience working in regulated, assurance led, or compliance driven environments (e.g. sustainability, ESG, audit, risk, infrastructure, energy, or similar).
    • Excellent organisation and delivery management skills, including document control, versioning, and tracking issues through to resolution.
    • Confidence engaging professionally with external stakeholders such as auditors, standards bodies, consultants, or regulators.
    • Ability to work with incomplete or evolving information, apply judgement, and escalate issues appropriately.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing audit safe work.

    Desirable (but not required):

    • Direct carbon market experience is helpful but not required.
    • Experience supporting external reviews, audits, or validation processes.
    • Familiarity with energy, infrastructure, or digital platforms in regulated contexts.
    • Background in consultancy, policy analysis, infrastructure, engineering, or economics research, or compliance functions.
