    Call for Partnership

    Christian Aid (CA) is a UK-based international NGO, partnering with others to end poverty around the world. At the heart of this vision is the transformation of the lives of people who live in poverty, empowering them to have a brighter future. Christian Aid works in more than 30 countries and has been operating in Nigeria since 2003. The Nigeria Country Programme in it seven years strategic plan – “Standing Together”; focuses on Health and Human Development, Democracy and Good Governance; Humanitarian and Sustainable Livelihood programs, working across the country.

    Do you have experience and evidence-based success in any or all these three (3) thematic areas –

    1. Code 1.1: Sustainable Community Health, 
    2. Code 1.2: Democracy & Good Governance; and 
    3. Code 1.3: Humanitarian & Sustainable Livelihood

    To enable Christian Aid implement our strategy, it requires and engages with a partner portfolio that has the right mix of well-performing partners that bring about the change we want to see and to respond to crises when they occur. At Christian Aid we work with a variety of different partners from the nexus – humanitarian, Peace & Conflict and Development sectors, depending on the context and what we are trying to achieve. In view of this, Christian Aid UK Nigeria Programme is inviting civil society organisations with various levels and types of organisational and technical capacity, expertise and from different geographical areas – secular, faith-based and mixed organisations; from across ALL states including FCT of Nigeria to apply for the partnership call of interest. Christian Aid in this call will specifically prioritize organisations with demonstrated experience and evidence-based success in:

    • Evidence based advocacy actions – i.e., mobilizing and activating community voices around service delivery, accountability and involvement in critical decision-making processes
    • Expertise in Sustainable Healthcare Services – i.e. Health Financing, Nutrition, MNCH, SRHR; Democracy & Good Governance – i.e. Peace Building, Accountable Governance, Electoral Process, Anti-Corruption and Tax Justice (Policies & Legislations); Humanitarian & Sustainable Livelihood – i.e. WASH, Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihoods. 
    • Strong geographical presence and reach in fragile and hard-to-reach communities – especially in the same geographical locations as CA 
    • Reputations and acceptance by the local community 
    • Use participatory learning and action approaches in programme implementation for vulnerable persons in fragile and hard-to-reach communities 
    • Use of cross-cutting approaches for programming - Gender, Protection, Social Inclusion and Power Analysis.

    The preferred organisation will be considered based on key criteria which include:

    • Registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission in which it operates as a legal, non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO) or civil society organisation (CSO).
    • Ability to show evidence of prior activity over a period of three (3) years in the applied thematic area(s).
    • Demonstrated experience in managing donor and government supported programmes with adequate and functioning internal control systems in place
    • Evidence of experience and acceptance by community members in its implementing target locations
    • Demonstrated capacity for networking and capacity for sustaining initiatives beyond the life of projects to ensure sustained change within project locations
    • The organisation’s work responds to the needs and interests of poor and marginalised persons especially women, young persons, men, aged, people living with disabilities and other forms of diversity 
    • Capacity to monitor, evaluate and report on the use of resources, activities and the difference they make to the lives of women, men, aged, people living with disabilities and other forms of diversity. 
    • Putting learning into practice.
    • The organisation has clear and transparent governance and management structures, relating and reporting to one another effectively
    • The organisation has clear guiding principles on Safeguarding and GESI application in it programme area(s)

    Expressions of Interest should be submitted by completing the application form below, saving it as a PDF – i.e. Code of thematic area(s), (name of acronym of organisation), and (Location of Organisation’s Head Office), and returning it with a covering email to ngprocurement@christian-aid.org NOT LATER THAN January 18th 2023. THE APPLICATION FORM SHOULD NOT BE LONGER THAN 10 PAGES.

    Please don’t apply for more than two (2) Thematic Areas in one single application – preferably apply for the thematic area, that your organisation possesses the strongest capacity to deliver on. No dual application!!

    The application form and specific evaluations or evidence of previous programmes should be sent as attachments/appendices.
