PURPOSE

The role of the buyer is strategic, requiring strong commercial acumen, technical literacy, risk awareness, and the ability to influence stakeholders while ensuring the organization obtains maximum value from its technology investments.

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

• The buyer will be responsible for requirements gathering and demand planning
• S/he will be responsible for vendor research and selection
• S/he will be involved in commercial negotiation and contracting
• S/he will be responsible for Procurement execution and order management
• The buyer will manage supplier relationship and performance management
• S/he will be involved in risk, compliance, and governance
• S/he has the responsibility for Market and technology awareness
• The buyer will employ Ethical Procurement in all activities

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, word and PowerPoint
