Business Strategy & Planning - Team Leader

Your morning might begin by reviewing the latest energy sector regulatory updates or a shift in the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) fiscal terms to ensure our active bids remain compliant. By midday, you are deep in a Market Evaluation Planning (MEP) session, synthesizing local transmission and power generation intelligence into a high-impact presentation for the Middle East Africa (MEA) Hub leadership. Your afternoon is spent 'on the ground'—perhaps meeting with a local partner to audit their capacity or navigating a strategic discussion with National Oil Company stakeholders. You wrap up the day by bridging the gap between local realities and global KPIs, providing the Country Managing Director and Head of Strategy & Markets (MEA) with the localized intelligence needed to steer our regional growth.

    How You’ll Make An Impact

    • Localization Mastery: Develop and execute a comprehensive Nigerian Content Strategy to hit the national 70% localization target by 2026 without compromising Siemens Energy’s global quality standards.
    • Regulatory & Policy Navigation: Act as the strategic lead for interpreting the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and NOGICD Act implications on our portfolio, ensuring we maintain "First Consideration" status in all major bids.
    • Market Intelligence: Provide "boots-on-the-ground" analysis of the Nigerian power sector, specifically focusing on the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), the liquidity of DisCos, and the growth of decentralized energy solutions.
    • Strategic Roadmaps: Support the MEA Strategy Head and country MD in assessing local M&A opportunities, joint ventures, or local assembly partnerships that enhance our competitive edge in the Nigerian power sector.
    • Synthesize the Country MD’s immediate operational needs with the MEA Hub’s long-term strategic KPIs, ensuring Nigeria’s unique risk-reward profile is accurately represented in global investment committees.
    • Lead cross-functional teams, fostering a strong network within Siemens Energy to drive strategic initiatives.

    What You Bring

    • 7+ years in Strategy, Business Development, or Market Intelligence within the Energy sector (Power, Oil & Gas, or Renewables).
    • Master’s degree and above. PhD is a plus, majoring in Economics or Engineering.
    • Deep understanding of Nigerian local content laws and the fiscal frameworks of the PIA.
    • Ability to turn fragmented local market data into clear, actionable "Management Reviews" for regional and global leadership.
    • Cross-functional team leadership and Project Management skills with focus on Strategy and Consulting
    • Business-modelling & Customer co-creation skills.
    • Strong presentation, analytical and communication skills, highly structured working-style
    • Strong intercultural skills and working experience in muti-national companies and virtual teams.
    • Multiple stakeholder management (internal and external),
    • Strong in both written and oral English.
