    Business Development Specialist (Offshore Waste Management Services)

    Job Description

    • The Offshore Waste Management Services Business Development Specialist will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and driving growth in the offshore waste management sector. 

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan for offshore waste management services.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the waste management sector, specifically targeting offshore projects.
    • Lead the tendering process, ensuring the preparation, submission, and follow-up of competitive bids.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for tender responses, including technical, financial, and legal aspects.
    • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential clients' needs.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry partners.
    • Actively engage in negotiations to secure favourable contract terms and agreements.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports on business development activities, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements related to waste management in offshore environments and ensure compliance in all activities.
    • Provide regular updates and feedback to senior management on the progress of business development initiatives.

    Qualifications and Experience Required.

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in business development or sales roles within the maritime industry or oil and gas with a strong understanding of the Nigerian maritime market and regulatory environment (Minimum of 5 years) with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    • Strong technical acumen and the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
    • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
    • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong research and analytical skills to identify business opportunities, assess market trends, and develop targeted strategies.
    • Can function as a Tender Administrator (Able to package Technical and Commercial Tender)
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and self-motivated approach to achieving targets and objectives.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
