    The Role

    • As a Business Development & Programs Officer, you will sit at the intersection of programs and commercial strategy.
    • You will drive sales across CPHI’s social enterprise and fee-for- service portfolio, secure partnerships that generate income and visibility, and support the organization’s funding efforts by connecting the right opportunities to the proposal team.
    • You will also contribute to program positioning, helping to package CPHI’s work in ways that attract clients, partners, and funders.
    • You are target-driven, relationship-oriented, and you understand that mission and margin are not opposites.

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales and Revenue Generation

    • Drive uptake and revenue across CPHI's social enterprise and fee-for-service offerings, including health products, clinical services, and community-based programs.
    • Identify and close agreements with institutional clients, corporates, HMOs, universities, community organizations, and private sector entities, seeking health services for their staff, members, or communities.
    • Develop and pitch service packages tailored to different client segments, with clear value propositions and pricing.
    • Build and manage a client pipeline, tracking leads, proposals, conversions, and revenue on a regular basis.
    • Grow demand for CPHI's services through proactive outreach, direct sales activities, and relationship management.

    Partnerships and Corporate Engagement

    • Identify, approach, and close CSR and corporate partnerships that align with CPHI's health mandate and sustainability goals.
    • Build and maintain relationships with corporates, foundations, bilateral agencies, and private sector organizations that translate into service agreements, co-investments, or recurring sponsorships.
    • Manage existing partner relationships, including performance reviews, site agreements, and ongoing engagement.
    • Represent CPHI at business forums, health sector events, and networking platforms to generate leads and build visibility for our programs and services.

    Funding Development Support

    • Work with technical and proposal teams to prospect and qualify new funding opportunities, grants, tenders, and calls for proposals, aligned to CPHI's thematic priorities, and hand these off to the technical team with the relationship context needed to win.
    • Conduct regular landscape analysis of available funding to keep CPHI ahead of deadlines and positioned competitively.
    • Manage the funding and partnership pipeline using CPHI's CRM, tracking progress and reporting to leadership.
    • Support donor stewardship activities, including impact briefs, relationship briefings, and preparation for high-value engagement meetings.

    Program Support and Market Positioning

    • Work with the programs team to package and position CPHI's services in ways that attract clients, partners, and funders.
    • Conduct market analysis to identify where CPHI's services have the highest demand and where new opportunities exist.
    • Monitor competitor positioning, sector trends, and emerging opportunities aligned to CPHI's mission and growth areas.
    • Provide regular performance reports and forecasts on revenue, partnerships, and pipeline to the Executive Director.

    What We Are Looking For

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
    • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in sales, business development, or a commercial role with a demonstrated track record of hitting targets and closing deals.
    • Strong commercial instinct: you understand pricing, value propositions, and what it takes to move a prospect through a pipeline.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; you are comfortable presenting to a corporate director, a government official, and a community partner in the same week.
