Winock Agro is seeking a results-driven Business Development Officer to accelerate our growth in the agro-commodity trading space.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in agro commodity trading within Abuja, Lagos, or Eastern Nigeria, and a strong ability to identify market opportunities, secure offtakers, and expand our commercial footprint across key regions.
This role requires a hands-on professional who can drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships, door-to-door sales, and direct engagement with commercial customers such as hotels, restaurants, and other bulk buyers.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and secure reliable offtakers for agro commodities across target markets.
Develop and execute strategies to grow Winock Agro’s market share in Abuja and expand into Lagos and Eastern Nigeria.
Drive door-to-door sales efforts to onboard new customers and increase product penetration.
Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients including hotels, restaurants, caterers, and food service businesses.
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, pricing trends, and competitor activities.
Negotiate contracts and close sales deals to achieve revenue and profit targets.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient supply chain coordination and customer satisfaction.
Provide regular reports on sales performance, pipeline, and market insights.
Requirements
Proven experience in agro commodity trading, preferably within Abuja, Lagos, or Eastern Nigeria.
Demonstrated success in sourcing and managing offtakers.
Strong experience in door-to-door sales and direct business development.
Existing network within commercial sectors (hotels, restaurants, food vendors, etc.).
Ability to drive business expansion into new geographic markets.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
Good knowledge of the agro supply chain and market dynamics in Nigeria.
