Business Development Executive (Oil & Gas / Engineering Sector)
The Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and expanding the company’s client base within the oil & gas and engineering sectors.
The role requires strong commercial awareness, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in business development, client acquisition, proposal management, and market intelligence, with the ability to collaborate across internal teams including operations, technical, finance, and management to deliver winning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities in the oil & gas and engineering sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
Develop and present business proposals, bids, and tenders.
Support the preparation of commercial and technical submissions in collaboration with internal teams.
Drive the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
Achieve agreed revenue and business growth targets.
Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of opportunities and provide regular reports to management.• Negotiate contracts and agreements in line with company policies and profitability goals.
Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure client requirements are met.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking engagements.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to inform strategy.
Prepare periodic business development reports and performance updates for senior leadership.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
Professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development are an advantage.
5–7 years of relevant experience in business development or sales, preferably in oil & gas or engineering sectors.
2–3 years in a senior or supervisory business development role.
Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles, tendering processes, and contract negotiation.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
High level of integrity, resilience, and results orientation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
