Budgeting & Reporting Specialist at Smile Communications

Job Summary

• Manages the accounting process, analyses financial information and prepares financial reports. Will be responsible for budget/business plan and other financial activities within the company

Responsibilities

• Prepares & monitors monthly, the Income statement, Trial Balance, and cash flow statement.
• Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Group Finance, and Internal Audit to ensure consistent and regulatory-compliant financial practices throughout, in order to achieve efficient and effective financial reporting and internal controls;
• Develop strong lines of communication and coordination with Group Office in order to facilitate the accurate and timely transfer and dissemination of both financial and management information;
• Ensure timely planning and preparation of budgets in line with planning agreed with the group
• Prepares monthly management financial reporting package and executive summary schedules.
• Reviews the financial statements of the company’s annual report and ensures compliance with IFRS.
• Ensures proper accounting allocation for audit review.
• Prepares ad-hoc reports for different purposes/projects.
• Ensures application of accounting principles, in the maintenance of internal controls.
• Answers the internal and external auditors on any accounting transactions.
• Coordinates and facilitates the process of documenting accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree - Finance, Accounting
• Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of laws and administrative policies governing various financial practices
• An accounting Professional qualification is an added advantage
• Comprehensive knowledge of fund accounting. Auditing and reporting requirements.
