Role Description

• The Branch Manager role at Alert Microfinance Bank is a full-time, on-site position based in Port Harcourt. The Branch Manager oversees daily branch operations, including supervising staff, managing customer service standards, and ensuring efficient delivery of financial services to micro-entrepreneurs.
• Responsibilities include driving branch growth, meeting performance targets, monitoring loan and deposit portfolios, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and local businesses, identifying market opportunities, and implementing strategies to expand the customer base.
• The Branch Manager also provides leadership, coaching, and performance management for branch team members to foster a high-performing work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or microfinance banking operations, including branch management, customer service, and portfolio oversight.
• Strong leadership, people management, and team development skills to guide and support branch staff.
• Solid knowledge of credit processes, risk assessment, and compliance within a financial services environment.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in basic financial analysis, reporting, and use of banking software and productivity tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
• Proven ability to meet performance targets, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Familiarity with the Port Harcourt market and micro-entrepreneur ecosystem is highly beneficial.
