The Boiler Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring steam boilers and related mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
The role involves conducting regular inspections, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain production standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor boilers, feedwater systems, and auxiliary equipment.
Maintain optimal boiler performance by adjusting valves, controls, and safety devices.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on boilers and equipment.
Record operating data such as pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel consumption.
Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, reporting faults to maintenance teams.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation of daily operations.
Support shutdowns, startups, and emergency response procedures as required.
Qualifications and Experience
OND or Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
2 - 3 years of experience as a Boiler Operator or in a similar industrial role.
Knowledge of boiler systems, steam generation, and mechanical operations.
Understanding of safety and environmental standards related to boiler operations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
