We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team for a duration of 2-months.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable backend systems, experience in fintech or banking, and a passion for building solutions that drive financial inclusion in Africa.
What You'll Do
Architect, design, and implement software applications for our digital payment platform.
Develop new features from inception to deployment, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable.
Write robust documentation to support new and existing functionalities.
Build and maintain integrations with various vendors and financial institutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and compliance, to deliver seamless user experiences.
Solve complex problems related to large-scale money movement and sensitive financial data.
What You’ll Need
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of experience in backend development, preferably in a high-scale banking or fintech organization.
Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as NodeJS, TypeScript, NestJS.
Knowledge of frontend libraries and frameworks such as ReactJS, React Native, NextJS will be an added advantage.
Solid knowledge of OOP, DBMS, and ORMs.
Experience with event-driven architecture and microservices.
Solid understanding of banking systems, financial transactions, and payment processing.
Experience with version control tools such as git and github.
Knowledge of banking protocols, APIs, and security standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
