Associate Lawyer at Fort Legis Attorneys

Job Description:

• We are seeking a highly motivated and diligent NYSC Associate Lawyer to join our team. This is an onsite role, ideally for candidates with 1 year post-call experience, who possess strong passion for litigation and demonstrate efficiency in legal research, drafting, and courtroom support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on various cases and legal issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
• Represent clients in court and other legal proceedings.
• Provide a detailed court record after hearing.
• Provide legal advice and support to clients on litigation matters.
• Manage and prioritize multiple cases and tasks efficiently.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

• LLB degree from a recognized institution.
• B.L degree from the Nigerian Law School
• 1 year post call from the Nigerian Bar Association
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Passion for litigation and a commitment to legal excellence.
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
• Proficient in the use of legal software and online research tools.
• Experience in brief writing and appellate matters is considered an asset.
