Assitant Material Planner at GZ Industries

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support with material requirement planning based on consolidated production forecasts for GZI plants in Nigeria.
• Coordinate with procurement, import & export, fleet, and production schedulers to ensure timely delivery and allocation of materials.
• Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and safety stock across all locations to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Analyze consumption patterns and supplier performance to optimize material planning strategies.
• Monitor material usage variances for weekly review.
• Coordinate with procurement to manage delivery schedules and material availability.
• Use ERP and planning tools (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Excel) to maintain accurate planning data and generate reports.
• Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings and provide insights into material readiness and risks.
• Control/Loss Prevention and Obsolete Management
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management and supplier collaboration.
• Coordinate effectively with procurement, production, fleet, and warehouse teams. Facilitate clear communication between departments to ensure alignment on material needs and timelines.
• Implement and maintain the requirements of Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety Management Systems.

Required Education/ Qualification

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Management, Procurement or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP) for material planning and inventory management is required.
